Residential Building Permit Inspections by the Board of Assessors

The City of Quincy, Board of Assessors is in the process of reviewing all properties that have taken out building permits during Calendar Year 2015 & 2016. The Board is required by the Massachusetts Department of Revenue to review all permitted changes to property for assessment purposes. They have hired 3D Data Ltd. to conduct the inspections between 02/28/2017 and 05/28/2017. These inspections will happen 7 days a week between the hours of 9 am to 5 pm.

Representatives from the Company will be carrying a photo ID and their vehicles will be registered at the Police Station. As part of the inspection process, the representative will be measuring buildings, taking exterior photos, and if applicable requesting an interior inspection.

The Quincy Board of Assessors are mandated to follow Massachusetts General Laws which ensure property values are fair and equitable; property inspections are a mandated part of the law. We realize that having someone walkthrough your house may cause an inconvenience, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation. The entire process should generally take no more than 10 minutes.
